Washington DC Update

The original dates/pricing were no longer available.  The Washington DC trip will now take place on May 29, 30 and 31.  The new cost of the trip will be $642 per student.  Final payment will be due Monday, March 26.

Luggage Check For DC
Luggage check will take place on Thursday, May 24 from 4:30-6:30 pm in the Multi Purpose room.  All luggage must be checked in on this date.

School Permission form for Washington, DC

The school permission form for Washington, DC must be returned to Ms. Provenzano by Friday, May 4.  Your child will not be allowed to board the bus without the form being filled out.

Medical forms for DC Trip

Blue medical forms are due to Ms. Provenzano by Friday, December 1.
Yellow medical forms are due to Ms. Pappas by May, 7.  All medication to be taken on the DC trip must be handed in to Ms. Pappas by May 21.  This includes Rx and OTC medications.  All medications must be in the original container labeled with the student's name.  All medications must include an order from the student's physician and written permission from the parent/guardian. This includes OTC medication.

Volunteers Needed
We have two more canning days set to raise money for our class.  I am in need of parent and student volunteers.  The canning will take place at the Walmart in Teterboro.  The dates are April 26 and May 11. Time slots are 4-6 pm and 6-8 pm.  Please email Ms. Provenzano if you are available to volunteer.

Dance Candy Donations Needed
If you did not participate in the mandatory fundraisers (candy/calendar raffle) in order for your child to receive the full gift at the end of the year, we will need donations of the following candy for the end of the year dance and volunteers for the canning dates above.  The candy that we need for the celebration dance are as follows:

Somerset Patriots Baseball Trip
The Baseball trip which is sponsored by PAL will take place on Wednesday, June 6 in Bridgewater, NJ. There is no cost for the trip. Students are allowed to bring money to purchase souvenirs or snacks, but they are responsible for their money.  Permission forms are due back to Ms. Provenzano by Friday, May 4.

8th Grade Speech Tryouts
Anyone trying out must attend a meeting on April 19 at 3:05 in Ms. Provenzano's room.  Speech tryouts will take place on May 8 at 3:05 in room 116.  Any 8th grade student trying out for speeches must submit a typed copy of their speech to Ms. Provenzano by April 19.

Speeches needed:  Welcome speech (Awards night and graduation), Farewell speech, Flag Salute (Awards night and graduation) and Class Announcer

Important Parent Meetings:

Wednesday, April 18 at 7pm
- May/June Calendar will be given out along with graduation date.
-Luggage check and information about Washington Trip will be discussed.
-School permission form for Washington trip will be distributed.
-Nurse will be available to answer any questions regarding trip.
-Baseball Trip permission forms due back to Ms. Provenzano by Friday, April 27.

Wednesday, May 9 at 7pm
-Graduation tickets will be distributed.  They will not be sent home with students.  If you do not come to this meeting, you will have to make an appointment to pick up tickets in school.
-8th Grade Celebration Dance will be discussed.
