Emergency & Information Alert System
In our ongoing effort to keep parents and guardians informed of important school and community related information we use SchoolMessenger as our alert system. This system also allows us to automate our attendance calling in the event of a student absence resulting in faster resolution of unreported absences.
For the most part you will not be required to do anything other than replying to an "opt-in" text message should you wish to receive text messages and making sure that your phone numbers and email addresses are up to date in our student information system. For our initial set up of the system we have used the phone number of your child's student record as the main contact number. For text messages we used the cell phone numbers on file for the primary guardians. Email addresses also came from the primary guardians.
We periodically send test calls, opt-in text messages and emails. One significant change in SchoolMessenger is that you will need to "opt-in" to receive text messages. This insures that we do not send texts to anyone who does not wish to receive them. You can choose not to "opt-in" if that is your choice. Watch for updates.
