Inclusion

What is inclusion? "Inclusion is the intent of the law. The goal of an inclusive setting is to help facilitate and to enhance all students' educational and social skills, which are needed to be successful in the general education classroom."

Dear Little Ferry Families,

It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed
Director of Special Services. I joined your community after a twelve year tenure in the Ridgefield Park
School District. I feel lucky to have gained a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge from your
neighboring school community. I am confident my time there will make this transition, as well as the
transition of your own children, most successful.

Administratively, I have served as an Elementary School Principal and Director of District Wide Testing and
Professional Development. Prior to those experiences, I was a Special Education Teacher and Girls
Basketball Coach at Ridgefield Park Junior/Senior High School for six years. I am also currently a member
of my own community’s Board of Education.

I have earned my undergraduate degree from East Stroudsburg University, along with two Masters’ degrees;
one in Special Education from New Jersey City University and the other in Education Leadership from Saint
Peter's University.

I currently reside in Washington Township with my wife Allison. We have two sons, Cole and Brayden,
who inspire my decision making and remind me that my role is one guided by policy, state law, but most
importantly, what’s best for children and their families.

I am elated to bring my energy, passion and skills to Little Ferry and work with you as a partner in education
to ensure your child’s growth and progress.

Along with the staff, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success established in this district by building
strong relationships with parents, students, staff and community partners.

I assure you that we will continue to move forward with innovative ideas that will foster a tremendous
learning environment for your child. Go Royals!

Best,

Matthew A. Perrapato
